Artwork Guidelines

Package Job

If you plan to send your native file, please use your layout software's package feature, if available, to collect all of the fonts and pictures. The job will not print properly if the pictures used in the layout, as well as all of the used fonts are not included. If you are using a vector program, such as illustrator or Freehand, please convert all of your fonts to outlines, and embed all images before sending.

Please use only TIFF or EPS pictures in your layout. All pictures must be 300dpi, and line art must be 600dpi for proper print resolution.

Note: Images taken from web sites typically never work for high end output.

PDF Creation

When creating your press ready PDF, please consider these things:

Use the PDF/X 1A 2001 setting in your distiller. We require the PDF to be CMYK, NOT RGB.

All fonts must be embedded!

Make sure that your PDF is at least 300dpi for pictures, and 600dpi for line art.

For jobs that require bleeds, please add a 1/16" bleed on each edge.
For non bleed items, please leave 1/8" inside the trim edge.

Make sure that all artwork placed in the PDF is flattened.

Color

Please convert all of your files to CMYK before sending.
Include any PMS colors you used in your work.
Convert all large areas of black to our Rich Black formula:
C:30 M:30 Y:10 K:100

Please make sure that all black text is a CMYK mix of C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100.
If color is critical, please send a color match proof.
